2nd night of protest under Bill 78: More than 300 arrests, flooding, injuries
Two days after legislation aimed at pacifying student protests went into effect, protesters and police clashed violently once again on Sunday night, culminating in mass arrests and at least two people hospitalized.
As of early Monday morning, Montreal police had confirmed around 200 arrests. By 6:30 a.m. La Presse was reporting more than 300 arrests had been made. There were also reports of at least 20 people injured, including 11 police officers.
While details on injuries were scarce early Monday morning, the SPVM tweeted that a man in his forties had received a non-life threatening head injury…
